In ‘Tierra Lorca’, the poet’s journey is recounted through the traditional music of his land, Granada. After a brilliant interpretation of this work, a production by the Ballet Flamenco de Andalucía, the flamenco dancers Alberto Sellés, Eduardo Leal and Carmen Yanes respond together, in representation of all their collegues, to this exclusive interview for the Biennial website.
How did you and your collegues experience the process of preparing the show ‘Tierra Lorca’?
We have lived it intensely but very fruitfully.
What has it taken for you to take part in the Biennial?
It has been an honor to be a participant in the Andalusian Flamenco Ballet at this very important Festival.
How did you receive this ‘Giraldillo to the corps de ballet‘ of the Biennial?
With great pride, since it has been the first time that he is recognized with a Giraldillo dance for the Ballet Flamenco de Andalucía.
How would you define Rafaela Carrasco in her direction of the Flamenco Ballet of Andalusia?
She is a very close person with whom we have enjoyed his work.
How has your career influenced the BFA? What is the next challenge or project that you are developing or have in view?
It has been a very rewarding experience in which we have learned a lot. Currently, some of us continue in the Ballet Flamenco de Andalucía, and the others have their personal projects.
