Fahmi Alqhai premieres “Romances” at the Real Alcázar

Composer and viola da gamba player Fahmi Alqhai premiered his new show “Romances. Entre oriente y occidente” on September 12th at the Patio de la Montería of the Real Alcázar de Sevilla, alongside singers Carmen Linares, Ghalia Benali, Dani de Morón, Mariví Blasco and Accademia del Piacere, searching for the connections of arab music, ancient music and flamenco. They were accompanied by Agustín Diassera on percussion, Kiya Tabassian on sitar, Rami Alqhai and Johanna Rose on viola da gamba and Javier Núñez on the keyboards. It’s Fahmi Alqhai third piece on a study about the musical origins of flamenco, after “Las idas y las vueltas“, with singer Arcángel and “Diálogos de viejos y nuevos sones“, with singer Rocío Márquez, both shows being awarded with a la Bienal’s Premio Giraldillo.
