Dancer Andrés Marín gave life to a flamenco “D.Quixote” on last Sunday, September 16th, hosted by the Teatro de la Maestranza during this XX edition. On this piece, co-produced by la Bienal, Marín shakes two pillars of the Hispanic culture: flamenco and Cervante’s “Don Quijote de La Mancha”. The choreographer worked on the artistic direction alongside writer Laurent Berger. On stage, Marín was accompanied by dancers Patricia Guerrero and Abel Harana, singer Rosario “La Tremendita”, percussionist Daniel Suárez, cello player Sancho Almendral and electric guitar player Jorge Rubiales. “D.Quixote” is a French and Spanish co-production between Bienal de Flamenco, Théâtre National de Chaillot, Théâtre de Nimes, Agencia Andaluza de Instituciones Culturales de la Consejería de Cultura (Junta de Andalucía), Théâtres en Dracénie, Scène conventionnée dès l’enfance et pour la dans and Scène nationale du Sud-Aquitain.
